Melinda Hoffman, a student in our Practical Nursing Program, was awarded a $1,000 scholarship from the York Literacy Council, where she attended the Healthcare Career Pathways Program. Mindy chose a career in nursing because her grandmother (her role model) was a nurse and taught her to love and care for other people. She is very excited to continue to learn lessons and grow in the nursing program and loves the environment and camaraderie of the classroom. “Graduating the program will be a big feat,” said Mindy, but with the amazing support of her classmates, instructors, and staff, she knows she can do it!
