The Mechatronics Capstone Open House, held on May 2, was a dynamic display of ingenuity and collaboration between students and local employers. This annual event provides a comprehensive, all-encompassing conclusion to the Mechatronics & Industrial Controls Technology program. Utilizing the knowledge and skill set developed throughout the year, the students each conceptualized, designed, and built a real-world industrial solution.
These prototypes, ranging from a concrete truck filling station to a poker chip maker, demonstrated the students’ mastery of robotics, electronics, and programming. Each project reflected months of dedication, problem-solving, and hands-on learning.
What sets this event apart is the opportunity for students to engage in “working interviews” with the over 50 leading local employers in attendance. This unique format allowed students to not only present their projects but also demonstrate their technical skills, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities in real-world scenarios.
