Position Duties & Qualifications
- Reads test schedule, work orders, wiring diagrams, schematics, data sheets, C.O.E., test manuals, performance
- specifications to ascertain testing procedure and equipment to be used.
- Connects unit to be tested to equipment and instruments such as wave tek generator, various test stands and/or
- fixtures, hi-pot tester, ohmmeter, voltmeter, ammeter, resistance bridge, oscilloscope, Genrad and Zehntel.
- Reads dials that indicate electronic characteristics, such as voltage, frequency, distortion induction and capacitance,
- Traces circuits of defective units, using knowledge of electronic theory and electronic test equipment to locate defects, such as shorts, or faulty components.
- Replaces defective wiring and components, using hand tools and soldering iron or records defects on tag attached to unit and returns it to production department for repair.
- Performs functional tests of systems, subassemblies and parts under complete operating sequence from diagrams and test specifications,
- Examines unit visually for physical defects, such as broken wire, excess solder, soldering connections and any lodged foreign matter.
- Records type and quantity of defects for record purposes, Issues defect reports as required.
- Assist in other testing assignments equal to or less than the scope of this description,
- Conducts audits to insure compliance to the drawing and specification requirements.
- Perform preventive maintenance on electronic control and mechanical equipment
Position Requirements
- High School Graduate or equivalent with relevant education or training.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and adopted software programs.

In this position the Test Technician performs a variety of electronic, mechanical and electro-mechanical tests on electronic systems, subassemblies, printed circuit boards, and parts to ensure unit functions according to specifications or to determine cause of unit failure using full range of electronic test instruments.
